Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem views model of World of Discovery
- May 9, 2008, 6:30 pm
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem was the driving force behind the deal with Busch Entertainment Corporation (BEC), the family entertainment division of Anheuser-Busch Cos, which will see the development of the Worlds of Discovery – SeaWorld, Aquatica, Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove – on The Palm Jebel Ali. The agreement was made in February 2008, with the first phase of the project due to open in 2012.
The concept master plan for Worlds of Discovery will see “the Crown” of The Palm Jebel Ali reshaped into the silhouette of a killer whale, a globally recognisable character and one of the species at the heart of SeaWorld’s dynamic entertainment and educational offering. SeaWorld Dubai will include many of the attractions visitors have come to enjoy in BEC’s U.S. operations, including killer whale, dolphin and sea lion attractions and marine themed rides.
