Dubai’s real estate conference with a carbon neutral

The Green Building Conference to be held in Dubai on the 25 and 26 of June is set to be the first conference in the UAE with a carbon neutral footprint.

The 2nd Green Building Conference organized by Dubai based Sesam Business Consultants in cooperation with the American University Dubai will take an in-depth view on how the real estate sector can provide a more ecological approach to the industry.

With industry experts from the World Green Building Council, the Emirates Green Building Council and the Fraunhofer Institute, the conference will offer workshops and interactive sessions on sustainable building concepts, effective water usage, solar thermal systems, external insulation and LEED accreditation.

The conference is the first of its kind in the UAE to offset carbon dioxide emissions created by the event itself.

Energy and water usage coupled with emissions created by the expected 400 delegates leave a distinct carbon dioxide footprint which the conference organizers look to offset.

‘The conference will introduce the new concept by leading by good example,’ commented Boris Ritter, General Manager, Sesam Business Consultants. ‘We need to create awareness and educate the different industries in the Middle East about Green Concepts. The real estate sector is a perfect start as we have concepts for new and existing buildings.’

My Climate, one of the partners of the conference, in conjunction with the Climate Protection Partnership support projects that lead to a direct reduction of greenhouse gases.
