Phase One of the ambitious Madinat Al Majd project in Jordan has been completed, and the first of the 480 residential units making up this phase of the project are being delivered to private owners, UAE-based Tameer, the developer behind the project, has confirmed.
Some private owners purchasing through Tameer have already completed the pre-handover inspection and site visit, and will be receiving the keys to their new apartments at the beginning of March.
Madinat Al Majd is a unique integrated residential city located in the New Zarqa area, just 15km from the centre of Amman, and close to all public services and governmental centres, as well as the Hashemite and Zarqa Private universities. Spread over an area of two million square meters, the landmark project will include a number of residential units, in addition to an array of planned amenities, and once completed will be home to approximately 50,000 people.
In line with the vision of the Jordanian monarch, His Majesty King Abdullah II, of providing every family with the opportunity to acquire adequate housing, and in partnership with the Kingdom’s government, a percentage of the Madinat Al Majd residential units will be made available as housing for people with limited incomes.
Ghassan Sakhnini, CEO of Tameer, said, ‘Tameer is the first foreign developer to undertake a project of this magnitude in the Kingdom, and we are honoured to be a part of such an important initiative. Tameer’s partnership with the Jordanian government to offer housing to all is sure to position Madinat Al Majd as a landmark in the arena of social responsibility.’
‘We are very excited about the prospects for the Madinat Al Majd community,’ Sakhnini continued, ‘and we look forward to watching it grow and flourish over the next few years. We are hopeful that the success of this project will encourage developers and governments throughout the region to collaborate in projects such as this to help ensure better lives for all.’
Tameer is working on a significant portion of the project’s infrastructure, and a number of plots will soon be ready for construction and further development.
