Marina Diamond I in Dubai Marina progressing on time

Private sector property developer Diamond Investments is fast completing the superstructure of the first of its six residential towers.

The company has also begun construction of the third project in Dubai Marina.

None of the private developers has delivered any freehold properties to home owners. So far, only Emaar Properties has handed over more than 10,000 units. A number of projects, currently in their final stages, will be completed by the end of this year, according to market sources.

Marina Diamond One was the first project launched by Diamond Investments last year. Since the project’s unveiling, it has been meeting construction targets.

Faris Saeed, general manager of Diamond Investments, said, “As work on the superstructure is now 100 per cent complete, Diamond Investments is focusing on delivering concrete work and finishings. For over two months now, progress has been made on the inside of the building at a steady rate. With much of the block-work and plastering well under way, the painting and ceramics stages have already begun, as have the preparations for the aluminum and glass clad exterior. Marina Diamond One is on track to open its doors to residents at the end of the year.”

As Marina Diamond One enters the final stages of the construction process, the second building in the series is not far behind. Scheduled to be complete by September 2006, the shoring, excavation and piling work for Marina Diamond Two has already been finished. Concrete work on this 15-storey residential structure is now under way.

Saeed said, “We are working hard to deliver on all of the buildings in the Marina Diamond portfolio, whether they are in the design, construction or finishing stages. With the shoring designed and ready for implementation, we are ready to start work on the fourth building in the series. This is a really exciting time for us and we are pushing ahead with the work and making progress.”
