IMPZ to exhibit at Gulf Print and Gulf Pack

The International Media Production Zone (IMPZ), a member of the Dubai Holding group that offers an environment and infrastructure for media production companies to develop and flourish, will display a model of its project at the Gulf Print and Gulf Pack exhibition, the Gulf’s largest printing and packaging trade fair, taking place between 11 and 14, December in Dubai at the Airport Expo.

IMPZ will also be showcasing several projects that form part of its community and technical infrastructure for printing, packaging and publishing companies.

‘IMPZ is developing an infrastructure and environment that will provide the ideal base for a wide spectrum of companies from the printing, packaging and publishing companies to operate with entrepreneurial freedom and operational efficiency,’ said Hamad Huraiz, Director of Operations, iMPZ. ‘iMPZ is all set to develop a community that will spearhead industry development in the region and set benchmarks for quality, innovation and excellence. By participating in this year’s Gulf Print and Pack, we hope to strengthen our ties with the industry and introduce our offerings to a larger number of companies who have a stake in the region,’ he added.

iMPZ officials expect to attract printers, packaging, graphic arts suppliers of machinery, consumables and paper, promotional items, and acrylic and signage manufacturers to its stand. ‘The graphic arts industry has shown a new momentum for growth and is on the threshold of a fresh new phase of development. IMPZ seeks to further enhance this industry in the entire region by providing a supportive environment and an enabling infrastructure that will help raise levels of productivity and excellence,’ said Sindbad Al Mahaire, Business Development Manager - Printing at IMPZ.

IMPZ is the first free zone in the Middle East dedicated to media production. It is part of the vision of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister, to develop Dubai into a global media hub. Since its official opening in 2001, Dubai Media City has grown to be a media community of over 1000 companies that include global media giants.

iMPZ’s first production cluster will focus on the printing, publishing and packaging industry. It is located over 43 million sq.ft. of land along Emirates Road a main transport artery.

Apart from pre-built units, other facilities offered by iMPZ include a Media Market, a dedicated retail resource stocking specialised art and production goods, industrial plots of land, an Exhibition, Conference and Business Centre, a hotel and a Media Community Centre with facilities such as art galleries, cafes and activity centres.

In addition, iMPZ will provide community support services for workers and residents at the Zone including, schools, day care centres, parks, fitness and outdoor recreation facilities.

The benefits of operating from iMPZ include 100% exemption from taxes, 100% repatriation of profits, 100% foreign ownership, no customs duty and low operating costs. In addition, partners can avail of straightforward laws and regulations, flexible labour laws and a world-class technical infrastructure including high bandwidth and low-cost and secure telecom facilities.
