New landmark in Ras Al-Khaimah the Emirates Flag project

Ras Al-Khaimah is eagerly anticipating a major new landmark, with the announcement by High Rise Real Estate today of the prestigious Emirates Flag project.
The 7 billion Dirham project is set for launch in Q1 2007 and will be developed in association with Ras Al-Khaimah Free Zone Authority, Dream Industrial Park FZCO, and A&A Investment Group. The Emirates Flag Development will proudly reflect the spirit and history of the UAE, and will be a testimonial to the unity and harmony between the 7 Emirates of the UAE.
In an inspiring conceptual design based on the Emirates Flag, designed by the reputed architectural design firm, Dimensions, the development is spread over 7 blocks. Each block will be themed around one of the Emirates - and will include a residential tower, hotel and office tower - complete with local art, food and décor from the Emirate represented in the design of the block. The project when built will proudly portray the flag of the UAE, immortalised for eternity in concrete glass and steel.
‘We want the Emirates Flag project to be the first icon of the UAE, representing the unity and dynamism, of this country. This project will put Ras Al Khaimah on the global map,’ said Mr. Faisal Ali Moosa, Managing Partner, High Rise Real Estate.
Each block is divided into 3 buildings; a residential tower, a hotel and an office tower. There are seven such blocks in the development.
Each residential tower will face the sea and will consist of 160, one bedroom flats of 800sq ft each, 120 studio flats of 450 sq ft each and 120, 2 Bed flats of 1,200 sq ft respectively. The Residential Towers boast of unparalleled vistas of the sea horizon and the adjacent Ras Al Khaimah coast line.
The middle building in every block is an exclusive 5 star hotel, comprising of 450 rooms, fully equipped with retail outlets, health clubs and banquet halls. Each hotel is uniquely themed to reflect the history and the spirit of the Emirate it represents, each imposing hotel covers more than 300,000 sq ft and is an architectural and design master piece by itself.
Completing the circle of self sufficiency, is the commercial office building which make up a third of the entire development. Each office tower has 25 floors and a total built up area of 300,000 sq ft, and offers a full service business centre in each tower, and retail shops. The lobby of every office tower is designed to be unique with own identity matching with the theme of the project. It will be fully self sufficient, intelligent community, complete with restaurants and retail areas all offering a direct view of the marina.
One of the amazing aspects of this project is that about 20% of The Emirates Flag project is built in the sea bridging land and sea, this provides office, homes and hotel rooms in the development fantastic vistas of the RAK coast line. The project also boasts of a large man made marina built to moor the yachts and boats.
‘You will be actually able to drive your yacht to the door step of your office in the morning and watch the setting sun on the horizon, on your way back home at the helm of your yacht. Now that is the way to drive,’ explained Mr Hisham Al Ghani, Designer of the Emirates Flag Project.
‘Commuting between Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah will not be a problem any more, as The Emirates Flag Development will provide its own fleet of high speed Water Jet taxis, which will provide an over-water connection for commuters travelling between Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai. This will be a fantastic service for people living in Dubai and working in Ras al Khaimah and vice versa. It will reduce commuting time by over 50% you can forget about traffic jams now,’ he added
