Successful turnout for Legends at Cityscape 2006

Cityscape 2006, the largest b2b event in the property and development sector proved to be a successful turnout for Legends Dubailand, one of the largest theme park destinations in the region, promoted and owned by Bahrain-based Islamic commercial and banking services major, Gulf Finance House B.S.C.

Legends is jointly owned by Gulf Finance House (GFH) and a strategic partner Saudi based group, Tanmiyat who are developing Living Legends, one of the components of the U.S $3.2 billion project. Legends Development Company LLC. a fully owned entity of GFH is assuming responsibility of the Leisure Components within the development.

Cityscape 2006 featured over 700 exhibitors from over 90 countries with a total attendance record of 18, 541 industry professionals at the Dubai World trade center in the first two days. The event was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Executive Council of Dubai on December 4, 2006 and welcomed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai who gave a surprise visit to the world’s largest international property investment and development event, Cityscape Dubai 2006, on its final day at Dubai International Exhibition.

A considerable interest was attracted from international and regional investors, who are keen to participate in this landmark project. The freehold development comprises of 500 luxury villas, 12 residential towers, 5 commercial towers, 4 themed hotels, 1 Boutique Hotel and 5 hotel apartments, the Leisure Complex and the Golf Course which will be sold as land parcels as well as at the retail level.

An enormous number of inquiries were received from trade visitors who displayed their emerging interest particularly in the residential components and the Leisure complex in the Legends project. The interest generated in both Living Legends specifically and Legends as a whole was very positive. Both the visiting professionals and the public were thrilled at the opportunity to learn at first hand the details of all the exhilarating attractions that would be on offer soon in Dubai. Visitor traffic was at a high level throughout the exhibition, with most visitors taking a genuine interest in the project and in learning the details. Most were eager to know the time frame for completion of at least the first phase.

Ms. Fauzia Al Khanjari, General Manager of Legends Development Co. LLC said, ‘The exhibition was definitely a success, giving us a golden opportunity to showcase Legends as Dubailand’s leading theme park destination in the expanding property and development sectors in Dubai.’
