Sama Dubai released details of ‘The Lagoons’

Sama Dubai, the international real estate investment and development arm of Dubai Holding, announced today the seven vibrant districts at the ‘The Lagoons’ will collectively offer a unique holistic living experience within the 70 million sq ft creekside destination in the heart of Dubai.

Set amongst a lush, green waterfront, ‘The Lagoons’ districts will define a city within a city, providing the highest possible quality of life within a true metropolitan environment surrounded by tranquil waters and open spaces.

Al Dana, Al Sedaifa, Al Jiwin, Al Naama, Al Lulu, Al Hassabi and Dubai Opera House comprise the seven districts that will combine residential units, and corporate and commercial facilities, juxtaposed with retail, leisure and cultural avenues in an environmentally friendly setting.

Abdulsalam Almarri, General Manager, ‘The Lagoons’ said: ‘The districts will each contain distinct elements that will shape ‘The Lagoons’ as a mixed use community offering an elite lifestyle within the seven beautifully landscaped and interlinked islands, representing a unique investment proposition to all end users.’

Positioned as the business heartland of Dubai, Al Dana will be The Lagoons’ commercial nerve centre, offering a state-of-the-art business environment for blue chip businesses and multinational corporations. The uniquely designed architectural landmark ‘Dubai Towers - Dubai’ will be a prominent landmark of this district, anchoring as an iconic and sculptural presence in the city’s skyline.

Al Dana will offer premium apartment space and world class hospitality chains, serviced by a first rate transportation system that includes trams, people movers, travelators, water ferries, and Dubai’s new Metro Transport System. A unique high-rise executive lifestyle will be complemented by a plethora of nightlife entertainment options interwoven amongst waterside cafes, offering a truly cosmopolitan experience.

Al Sedaifa will be the ultimate shopping destination offering spectacular views of the city. This district will be a unique synthesis of mid-rise buildings and world class retailing. A statement in fine apartment living, Al Sedaifa will be home to leading names in fashion from Milan, Paris, London and New York.

Al Jiwin will epitomize the ambience of a bazaar, where residents and visitors can spend quiet moments with friends, enjoy a cup of coffee or simply browse the boutiques and shops amidst the richly landscaped parks, plazas and piazzas along the water’s edge.

Al Naama will offer a place of relaxation. This district will serve as a sanctuary for the body and mind with health clubs and stunning spas for residents and visitors alike seeking a respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

A unique fusion of seclusion and natural splendour, Al Lulu will reflect incomparable close-to-nature luxury for those who value privacy and tranquility. This prestigious location will offer stunning luxury homes and spectacular views of the iconic Opera House across Dubai Creek. A variety of uniquely designed, individual waterfront villas and townhouses, set amongst private open spaces and private jetties, will overlook the scenic Ras Al Khor sanctuary against an uninterrupted backdrop of the Sheikh Zayed Road skyline.

Al Hassabi will offer a perfect place for relaxed living with large parklands, walkways and bicycle tracks running alongside winding waterways. The planetarium and amphitheatre within this distinct district will provide third generation acoustics for world class performances. With its own distinct character, the Al Hassabi will offer a place of calm and comfortable living with open markets and art galleries in its immediate vicinity.

The Lagoons will also be home to the Dubai Opera House, which forms the seventh and final district. Designed by an internationally acclaimed architect, the truly iconic building will bring world acclaimed performers to Dubai. The city’s only Opera House will be a celebration of human achievement in the arts. One of the world’s 6-star hotels will demarcate this district, along with top quality restaurants and cafes.

Abdulsalam Almarri, General Manager, ‘The Lagoons’ said: ‘The Lagoons’ is designed to re-establish the heart and soul of the city. It embodies a bold vision of the future while building upon its rich past, where traditional souks and bazaars will co-exist with global business houses and boldly designed landmarks in a unique creek side setting.’

‘The Lagoons’ offers its future residents the pleasures of nature including the enjoyment of living alongside diverse bird life, flora and fauna in a development that has been designed in harmony with the surrounding ecosystems.
