Asteco appoints new Head for Sales and Leasing for the UAE

Real estate and property services leader Asteco has appointed Brett Whalley as its new Head for Sales and Leasing for the UAE.

Whalley has been actively involved in the New Zealand property sector since 1990 with extensive experience in valuation and appraisal, client consultancy, asset and lease management and estate sales.

His new position at Asteco will see him take overall responsibility for Asteco’s UAE operations including property sales and leasing, new project sales and marketing initiatives.

‘The local real estate market is developing fast and we identified the need to create a position that focuses only on the UAE. Brett is a valuable addition to the team, and his extensive experience in the international property sector will complement Asteco’s existing resources,’ said Andrew Chambers, Managing Director, Asteco.

‘Brett has important experience in commercial negotiations, acquisitions, disposals, and site selection. His role will add new focus to our UAE sales and leasing operations, adding more credibility to the Asteco brand.’

Prior to joining Asteco, Whalley was Manager for Corporate Services, Commercial Leasing and Sales at Bayleys Real Estate in New Zealand.

Whalley also worked with Bayleys as General Manager, Property Services and Valuations from 2003 to 2005, and as Manager for Corporate Real Estate Services from 2001 to 2003. He was Senior Valuer and Manager for Darroch Valuation and Consultancy from 2000. Whalley began his career in 1990 as a Valuer with Valuation New Zealand.

During his career, Whalley has worked with major developers, corporations, and multi-national clients including Eastman Kodak, Bridgestone, Nokia, Fonterra and Nestle.

Whalley holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Property from the University of Auckland and is a Fellow of the Property & Valuers Institute and an Associate of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand.
