Luxury tower in Dubai Marina, 23 Marina on schedule

Hircon International announced today the completion of the raft for 23 Marina, thus setting the next stage for construction of this 90 storey luxury tower.
The sub-structure which includes, excavation, piling works and the diaphragm wall have already been completed and the main structure works are going in full swing.
Dubai Civil Engineering, the main contractors, immediately commenced work on the main structure for this iconic tower upon obtaining the building permit from Dubai Municipality in December 2006.
According to Mr. R. P. Ranganatha, GM of Hircon International, ‘Pile capping, treatment to diaphragm wall, blinding, water proofing and all such allied works were undertaken with round the clock schedule before completing the main raft itself. Nearly 150,000 man hours from all ranks and cadres have gone into the completion of the main raft which encompasses 1400 tonnes of steel and 7000 cubic metres of concrete and measures 3 metres thick.’
‘The completion of the raft would ensure that the main structure is safe and is in accordance with the UAE and international building regulations. Our directors Mr. Darshan Hiranandani and Mr. Abid Junaid are pleased with the pace of the construction work and are confident that we will complete the tower on time,’ Mr Ranganatha added.
As-to-date, 23 Marina is one of the world’s tallest residential towers, measuring more than 380 meters high. A first in Dubai, 23 Marina in Dubai Marina, boasts having 48 exclusive duplex apartments located on the top 24 floors, each with its own private plunge pool with Jacuzzi, bringing luxury living to the next level. Three luxurious penthouses adorn the topmost level of the tower in addition to 288 apartments in this 90 storey tower with 64 meters steel pineal erected from the roof making it an architectural marvel. 23 Marina received the CNBC awards for best architecture in 2006.
Other interesting features of this tower are the unitized aluminum and glass façade in addition to state-of-art technology and posh amenities which include concierge services, a five star spa, landscaped gardens, a jogging track and temperature controlled swimming pool. There are leisure decks at 3 levels, a business floor and a coffee parlor for exclusive use by the residents of the tower.
